Friesiana.com is a part of Ruiterhuis Joh. Bosgra BV, Hurdegaryp. This largest tack store of Friesland exists over 30 years. Ruiterhuis Joh. Bosgra BV is well known for its wide variety in products in all price ranges and the most complete tack store of the north of The Netherlands for rider, driver and horse!
All our employees have experience with Friesian horses and can therefor give you good advice.

Besides the tackstore, the company Joh. Bosgra BV exists of an agricultural machinery company, lawn mowers and garden machinery company and a large retail showroom.
Joh. Bosgra BV is a familybusiness, founded by Johannes en Anneke Bosgra in 1967. At this moment the daughters Gretha and Ciska, together with Anneke are responsible for the daily management.
Horses
Friesian horses play an important role in the life of the family Bosgra. Over 30 years Johannes Bosgra owns and breeds with Friesian horses.
The registered Friesian stallion Tsjipke 399 was bred in 1998, out of star mare Johanna B. (father Tammer) and the stallion Remmelt 323 (f. Oege pref.). Johanna B. is a descendant of the Star Preferent mare Olga D (f. Wessel). This mare we bought in 1980 from former ‘hoofdinspecteur’Hendrik Draaier of the KFPS. Olga D. was the starting point of the very successful breeding of Friesian horses. Olga D had 18 foals in total and at least 7 mares got the Star Predicate!. Still every year foals are born out of the (grand)daughters of Olga D. at the farm of the family Bosgra.
Also in the breeding of KWPN horses the famiily Bosgra was successful. The KWPN stallion Wisconsin (f. Nimmerdor) was born out of the Star Prestatie Mare Olanda (f. Uppercut xx). Wisconsin won 3 times the Stallion competion, but died unfortunately too soon because of a severe colic.
